Nails

Okay, I am super meticulous about my nails.

Typically, I only put a clear coat on, but here recently I've been using light pinks.

And I've noticed that my fingernails are stained. They're this nasty yellow color. And I can tell, because the new growth isn't like that!

Do you guys know of anyway I can remove the nasty stain?

Step 1

Soak your nails in warm water with dishwashing liquid added for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Scrub the surface of the nails lightly with a terry washcloth.

Step 3

Scrub the surface of the nails lightly with a soft nailbrush or toothbrush.

Step 4

Dip a cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide and swab the nails to lighten any remaining stains.

Step 5

Buff your nails lightly with a very fine-grit emery board or nail file.
Still Got Stains?

Step 1

Wash your nails with a soft toothbrush and whitening toothpaste.

Step 2

Cut a lemon in half. Loosen up the pulp. Stick your fingertips into the cut lemon halves and swirl them around for about 5 minutes. The lemon juice acts like a mild bleach on your nails.

Step 3

Dilute 1 part bleach with 10 parts water and soak your nails in the solution. Gently scrub under the nails with the bleach solution to remove any remaining stains from under your nails.

Me, personally, I would just wait; but as you've said yourself, you're meticulous about your nails and clearly want to fix it.

What Wolfie said; some of my friends have tried the lemon juice method and swear by it.

Prevention is better than cure, however; next time you use a coloured nail polish, make sure that before you paint it on, you put on a base coat first. It will save you a lot of bother afterwards.

I always put a base coat on. A really good one too.

It still doesn't help. D<

Change the nail polish, then. For example, I found that a glitter polish by Barry M stained my nails, even thru a base coat. I no longer use that polish now.
