Default Halloween Costumes - 10-11-2015, 12:25 PM

Costume Time!

What are you going to be, and if you want, post a picture of the costume!

Every year I make my kiddos costumes. This year I asked all my Facebook friends what they thought my daughter should be. There were several options to choose from so I made a collage and then asked my daughter to choose one from the collage that she wanted to be.

...She chose the most difficult costume there was. Princess Zelda, which of course meant that my son HAD to be Link.

Everything was made by us! My daughter's armor is made from milk jugs, hot glue, heavy gauge wire, and paint, believe it or not!

So anyway, share what ya'll want to be this year, and post pictures if you can!

I wish I could sew and craft like that! The amazing things you can do with milk jugs. This year, I want to cosplay the Dolorosa from Homestuck. She's this badass vampire ancestor supermom and she's my favorite, but I have to figure out how to do that. I'll probably try doing it with fabric paint and thrift store shopping cause I've never sewn anything in my life.

My mom used to make ALL of my Halloween costumes. I'll post some pictures once I get them scanned: I was a bunny (with coat hangers inserted in the ears to make them stand up and bend), Lamb Chop, a monarch butterfly, Daisy Duck (complete with a little duck butt), Dorothy Gale, a sock hopper with a scottie dog "poodle" skirt, a glow-in-the-dark spider witch, an angel (with cardboard wings that had individual feathers hot glued to them), Hermione Granger (first store bought one), a ham and Swiss sandwich, and after that she really stopped making them, but I did go as a teenage mutant turtle (but not a ninja) one year since she'd made a turtle shell out of an old saucer sled for when I was in Suessical as Yertle.

This year my girls are going to be Ninja Turtles! I bought the shells but I am going to craft everything else. I am excited about it. The hubby is going to be 2 face and I am going to be the Joker! Pretty excited about that too! I will be making and or peicing it all together and doing the make up. Here are just a few make ups and costumes I have designed in the past. As you can tell I love the horror aspect! lol. Lovie your costumes were the best! Loved them!
