For sure! When my hair is done nicely, it looks like this. Maybe a little more curly...I love iron curls in my hair because I have great thick hair that holds curls incredibly well (days after using hot curlers) but is a pain in the but.t to take care of.

I'd try that cut, but it might not look too good because by hair is so thick it would probably wig out without the extra weight.
