I have never been home schooled.
I don't think I really would, you'd miss out on socializing skills. I would find it very lonely, the going in your pajamas would be fun but you'd get sick of it after a while. When I was little I would have loved it, when I refused to go to school for a month. ![]() SHINee, the hottest group EVER. Onew + Taemin + Jonghyun + Minho + Key = LOVE |

I also wasn't meaning 'friends' in just socializing skills, thats important too, I was also meaning how to talk to people.
in home school, you wouldn't talk to many people and then when you grow up you'd probably be very shy and not know the right ways to talk to people. ![]() SHINee, the hottest group EVER. Onew + Taemin + Jonghyun + Minho + Key = LOVE |

She said, "plus", meaning she added the friends thing.
I'd hate to be home schooled. I'd have, like, no social life. Plus in school you can learn many things that you wouldn't be able to at home regarding your future, what kind of people you're attracted to, clubs and teams, and school's so much fun. Is sleeping in and getting schooled in your PJ's worth missing out on so much that schools bring to the table? For some people it's probably better then school. Besides, if you hang out with the right crowds, you'll never have to get involved with drugs, sex, and violence. ![]() Twilight: Turning teenagers everywhere into zombies. I was homeschooled all the way up until sixth grade and I loved it when it was happening, but I'm glad I stopped when I did because I'm already kind of socially awkward and I don't need more of that. You get a better education if you're homeschooled, true, but after a while you really should pick up some social skills. It wasn't that bad for me, because there were always other kids my age in the neighborhood, and we'd play around after they got home and during the summer - it wasn't that difficult to make friends. When I got older, though, around 9-10, I wanted to go to public school and interact with people more often (it's a good thing I realized this then, because I got picked on/shunned a lot in sixth grade...). So yeah. My point is that it can be a wonderful way for children to start out, so their reading and perception of learning material is better - but after a few years it's best to turn them loose in regular schools, for socializing and life lesson-related reasons.
As for the question of 'hate or love' homeschool - I have to love it. In the end, I credit my good grades in school to my being homeschooled, and I'm very happy my parents decided to do that for me. |
