Default Losing Weight - 10-17-2007, 08:39 PM

Before you critisize me for making a new thread when there's another thread about this, this is for me losing weight, with my schedule.

Okay, I have a fast metabolism, I think. I eat a lot but don't gain. But I am overweight because I had a slower metabolism when I was littler, and even though most of it evened out, I still want to lose some if I have any hopes of wearing a bikini on vacation this summer.

To start, I will NOT starve myself, binge, purge, or go on any "diet" that is unhealthy.

I also don't want to eat the same thing for lunch every day at my school. There isn't a whole lot of healthy options, and I hae no room to fit a lunch box.

So, here are the rules, I guess.

We only have a treadmill and excersize bike. My dad uses the treadmill in the mornings from the time I wake up until five minutes before I leave.

I cannot walk to school. I don't have time, and my mom drives me, because she doesn't want to risk it if I walk by myself, and all my friends live a good distance away, and most take the bus.

My sister has Tae Kwon Doe every evening, leaving me no time to walk/ride bikes with her when we get home, so that's not really an option. Sundays are my relax day, my free day, so I get to eat junk food and be a lazy bum, pretty much. I don't want to be excersizing all day.

Jazz band will be starting next week or the week after that. That is from 2:30-4:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. When I get home, I have homework, which is supposed to take 1-2 hours, but I take 10th grade geometry, which takes an hour-2 hours by itself. I'm lucky if I get to fit in half an hour on the bike once a week.

I am also in NJHS. We have a lot of big projects, like the Fall Ball this Friday, which I will be working from 2:30-8:30, leaving me absolutely no time to do anything once I get home, because I take a shower and do homework, and then bed at ten.

Saturdays don't have much, but that's the day we do running around if we need to, for groceries and such. Most times I can stay home alone, but some times I do have to go. I have church in the evenings, which means that I don't get a lot of free time after 4 or so.

I want to be able to make a regular schedule, but I can't find time to. I don't want to excersize "when I can" because then I'll procrastinate and never excersize.

So...any suggestions?

Wow you have a lot on your plate for your age it sounds almost like me at the moment.
Honestly like you have always been told proper diet and exercise is key to being healthy and fit.
now I dont know what you look like so I am picturing you as an average size for your age group . Maybe you should consider joining a kickboxing class for exercise like i do. Or if your too busy what i do every morning and every night is push ups and sit up and crunchies and weightlifting to have a body that is more toned especially for my legs which is my problem area but what I am interpreting from what you said you stomach much be the issue. eating things like a pb and j sand witch with an apple and a thing of juice and a granola bar as a treat that what i eat once in a while and i treat myself once a week to something really unhealthy if i stay strict on my diet and exercise. Honestly I think its great you are concerned about your diet and exercise unlike most kids today.
In the afternoon its the best time to exercise because you have all this extra fat to bun off from what you ate during the day channeling it into muscle as apposed to fat. I just exercise in the morning because it wakes me up. Fat can also be a good thing in some circumstances ,Fat keeps your body temperature at a norm you do need some to keep heat regulation so im glad your not thinking of anything extreme. what you do for yourself at this point in your life could effect you in either a positive or a negative way so its great to see u are taking an initiative . Just throw in some healthy things in your lunch treat urself once and a while and exercise on a daily basis and I am positive you will get the results you want!

ice princess, I can't walk by myself, and I have no time to walk with my sister. Read the entire post, please.

And I am trying to eat healthier, however it is hard to get a healthy dinner because my parents serve the food and I eat what they serve me. We're all trying to eat a bit healthier, but it's not working...Grr.

At my school they have a deli line. I have noticed that I have thinned out. I have been eating a lot of wheat bread because thats all they serve at my school. Maybe you should eat less junk food like ice princess said, and try eating more whole grain bread, and healthier foods. Not all fatty foods are bad for you, unless you eat a lot every day.

I'm sick and tired of people assuming I'm some fatty with nothing better to do than to eat junk food.

I get a "good lunch" 1-2 times a week. The other times, I get a sub sandwich from the school lunch bar. I get 2 cookies 2 times max a week, and I get water most days. For breakfast, I have slim fast, low or sugar free cereals, or oatmeal. I drink a lot of water.

I don't eat a lot of junk food. We rarely get ice cream or cookies or anything for at home, and I don't get a treat at school each day.

The problem is I don't have time to excersize. The food is not the problem, really, but the excersize.

Do you have stairs in your house? Walk up and down them constantly, perhaps as you're studying for tests so you can do two things at once. You could also throw in some exercises in between homework assignments, or get up and do something as a break in studying. Anything to get your heart pumping.

You could also try joining your sister in Tae Kwon Doe if you wish- you'd be doing something fun with your sister and exercising your body.

Hope this helps. Best of luck to you

I agree with Rose; run up stairs whenever you can. Same goes with school; if there's stairs, run up them whenever you can. Also, at break, take a walk round the block rather than sit down. And always eat breakfast. ^^ You can also, if you have any spare time after school or at weekends, put on a CD and get dancing! You can invite friends over for this, too; it's more fun with other ppl.

Does your school have a PE class? If it does, put a little bit of extra effort into it.

Do you drink soda? If you do, cut of that. I know people who have lost TONS of weight just from drinking soda.

I would rather be scolded for doing what is right than praised for doing what is wrong.

Fizzy drinks don't contain fat tho, just sugar. I drink fizzy all the time and never gain a pound.
