Mara soon joined Axel. "Some might. The deer girl who was just sold; the man who bought her is a good owner. He and his wife already have one pet who they treat very well. Others, however, might not be so lucky." Mara gave a sigh as she thought of the club owner and his son, and the unfortunate halfbreeds who might end up being sold to them.
Ella told her husband that on the way home, they must stop at a pet shop and get some things for their new pet. She would have to get quite a lot, as the poor thing obviously had nothing. Jett looked curiously at Yuuna. He hadn't ever seen a deer halfbreed before. David had no intention of staying to bid on any more pets. One was quite enough for now, especially as the bid had gone high.
Connor clung to his sister in frantic terror as she was being dragged away from him, ignoring the kicks and whip cuts he got from attendants. Andrew narrowed his eyes. He didn't like it when the attendants were too rough with the halfbreeds that were for sale. He slammed his hammer down to get everyone's attention and spoke.
"Would anyone be interested in buying these two as a done deal?" he asked the bidders. "That is to say, if you wish to buy both of these halfbreeds, then speak now."
