"I'll just- I'll handle it-" at that moment, her grandmother, an old woman that looked rather like a raisin with eye, poked her head out the door.
"Melody, you come to tell me truth at last! The loa come to me, tell me things; I know plenty already. Your man, he is not human but a servant of other beings. That is fine; they like him," she smiled, a very toothy but genuinely pleased smile. She had a thick, sweet accent, like molasses, that coated all of her words and made her lack of proper grammar forgivable and even endearing.
"Hush, now. We must hurry."
Ooc: to anyone unfamiliar with the sort of accent she'd have; think Tia Dalma from PoTc, but warmer instead of all creepy.
