What annoys me to no end is the fact that some people believe that the word stupid is synoymous with the word retarded. You are not only being rude, but showing your complete ignorance. Also, kids with these issues aren't retarded either. Yes, there are people with mental retardation out there, but NO -- Autistic kids, kids with Down Syndrome, etc. are not retarded, so therefore they should not be called such.



It actually isn't just kids who are so ignorant. My mom told me that while she was at work she saw a mother saying to her child: "Don't be so stupid. What are you on, the short bus?" Also, a man who she was checking in complained about one of the baggage fees, calling them retarded.
