By now, everyone was up and finding themselves breakfast. Jean's main concern over the battle was how to keep the civilians safe. Leaving them behind would mean that the soldiers could well sneak round the back and catch them. This would of course result in the X-men having no choice but to surrender, not being able to risk the civilians' lives.
