The elevator dinged and the doors slid open to the tenth floor. "Goodbye, Jerome! Have fun with your new girl!" Mrs. Johnson called before strolling off down the hall.
Jerome shook his head. "She's nuts, but harmless," he said to Rain. "No need to worry about her." His arms were beginning to shake as his muscles cramped from holding them in one position for so long; light though Rain was, Jerome hardly made carrying women a habit. He was glad when he made it to his own flat. Again he awkwardly fumbled for his keys and opened the door. He kicked it shut behind him, then gently placed Rain on the couch with a sigh of relief.
The flat belonging to the small du Chateau family was simple and modern, and obviously designer... though Rain would likely not know anything about that. It was fairly roomy for two, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a small dining area inbetween the kitchen and living room, and a pair of glass door leading out from the living room to a balcony.
