She wanted someplace to hide from the scientists, who she was sure would be chasing her, and this stranger was offering her a hiding place. Rain was innocent in some ways; it wouldn't occur to her to be suspicious of a man for any other reason than him being a scientist. At last, she nodded, not trusting her voice.
