Dolph's mind was in contrast filled with wildness and joy of the hunt. There was something within it which drew the mind; a picture of the night, but not one that had ever been viewed by a human. The sharp tang of different scents on the breeze; the full moon hanging like a round lamp in the sky; the stars, much larger and bursting with colours that the human eye never saw. The forest, full of whispers and sounds, certainly not silent. The crackle as a deer stepped on dead leaves. And finally, a fierce surge of wilding euphoria.
When Emily tore loose, Dolph stepped back in confusion. It was almost as tho a physical connection had been broken and he was in shock. Dolph also had guessed the meaning behind what he and Emily had shared; the soulmate principle. But the Night World forbade that a werewolf could fall in love with a human.
