"You're a good man, Ector, I have faith in your decisions in bringing up my son. I have no doubt that he will be a good King when the time is right for him to take over my duties, whether that be because of death or for another reason altogether." it was clear from the look in Uther's eyes that this was an indirect reminder that he did not want to be disappointed by his son.
