An example of a character that shows egoism is Curley's wife. Curley's wife messes around and flirts with others because it makes her feel less lonely. A character that shows Utilitarianism is George. George kills Lennie although he does not want to, because if Lennie continues to live then he will hurt more people and he doesn't want Lennie to be sad when everyone else comes to hunt him down. I think that Lennie shows examples of formalism because he believes in and always the rules that George says, regardless of what happens. (Such as when he jumped in the water, and he didn't know how to swim, so he nearly drowned) As for divine command, I think that Slim may be an example because he tries to attack Curley after Lennie is beat up and he doesn't do anything about it. Slim believes that it is not right to harm another human being, and he wants to stop Curley.
