Two items of interest appeared on the local news. One was that Janus Mortan had donated a large amount of money to a local, unnamed, laborotory in return for "services rendered". The newscast didn't go into detail, but it was significant, none the less.

The other was that a child had vanished, believed to be kidnapped. The mystery was that the child had apparently disappeared into thin air, and there was no evidence of what or who had done the deed, or where the child was now.
