I'm confused that you are having an issue since you are listed under the member group, not the validation one. The only real difference between the two groups is access to PMs, customizing your profile, and being able to create topics. Can you check if you can do those things now? Try creating a test topic, I'll delete it if it goes through without you getting in trouble.
