I had my hair cut like that a few years ago. Probably the worst choice I ever made(in the spur of the moment, thinking it would look cool), it totally did not look right with my face shape. At least when it grew out(around my chin) it looked nicer, somewhat Monroe-esque. I'd never cut my hair short again, it would look awful.

I realized I need to have my hair layered again so it stops looking so flat.
