Default Bumping - A MUST READ - 12-03-2008, 12:02 PM

Bumping. I'm certain you have all seen this word, be it just in a book or on here when you were being punished for doing it. The problem is, we are hearing that some people have no clue what this is and why it isn't allowed or even the times when it is acceptable.

Bumping is when you post in a thread, usually your own, in order to "bump" it up to the top of the forum list. Typically the post has no value, with the only words being "Please order from my shop" or "please respond" or even a simple "your welcome" weeks after the last reply. These ARE spam posts. They do not contribute to the board and quite frankly are a waste of space. I know you think that it will get your shop more attention or that it is polite to tell them that its great that they liked your doll, but your shop shouldn't be used like this. A post in your shop should consist of a request and a filled order, possibly even notification that the doll has been picked up or a post to tell if there is a problem. No posts from this point on should be begging members to request or consist of "your welcome"(if you want to put this, put it under the filled order in the SAME post). If someone wants to order from your shop, they will do so when they want to.

Also, the only time where it is acceptable to post multiple times when filling orders is if you have filled the image amount in your post. This is FOUR images. When filling large amounts of orders, do not use smilies in your post so that you can put up the maximum number of images. If you filled an order after your last post, but no one has posted yet, EDIT your previous post with a date that the order was completed and the order. This way people will know that you are still actively working on your shop.

Anyone who continues to do these things will not only have their shops closed, but will not be allowed to reopen shop and might even be temporarily banned if they refuse to stop after multiple warnings. Having a shop is a privilege, not a right, and rules must be followed if you wish to continue to have it.
