Suggestion For The Contest Section -
05-14-2008, 05:25 PM
I'm an avid contest entry maker and recently have come across a problem that is really irritating.
I just found out how to animate stuff on Photoshop which I was REALLY excited about because when you save something in GIF form on TDP makers it usually turns sour because I have more then 256 colors(I think that's the right number). Well anyway, the GIF form on Photoshop doesn't tell you that you can't have more than 256 colors. So I made an awesome-rad doll and tried to enter it into one of my contests... it won't animate! My first instinct was to re-save because I thought I had done it wrong, which I re-saved SEVERAL times and it still wouldn't animate on TDP. So I decided to check it on my computer and on PhotoBucket.com , both my computer AND PhotoBucket show it as animated.
My suggestion for the contest section is to add the option to upload a picture from the internet (like PhotoBucket).
And if the way I'm uploading it is not the problem, then they should make it to where they can support bigger files (which by the way it only says that you can't load anything bigger than 350X290 pixels or it will re-size it. It says nothing about how many KB it can have.)
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention: It was NOT bigger than 350X290 pixels. ( I know that when something is re-sized the animation can flaw) The image I was trying to upload was 297X282 and 77.1 KB (78,989 bytes)
Here's What TDP Contest Section Loaded:
And Here's What It Should Have Loaded:

I had the same problem again except this time I decided to see if the size needed to be smaller.
My suggestion for TDP contest section is to include that there is a decreased size maximum for animated dolls.
Most (if not all) animated dolls will flaw if the pixels are higher than 250X250. I made a doll that was 250X254 and it wouldn't animate. I cut off 4 pixels and voila! It worked.
