It's socialisation. My best friend as a child liked to play with Cindy and wear pink, I liked Transformers and wearing boys' clothes. We both were allowed to be ourselves. It's like people who throw a fit if a boy wants to study hairdressing or cook for a living, even tho there are loads of male hairdressers and chefs. The same goes for people who say that girls can't be mechanics or footballers.
