My grandmother thought the first lyric to Green Day's "Basket Case" was "Do you have a dime?". Actually, it's "Do you have the time".
Watching MTV with my grandmother was weird. She wanted to know exactly what was it the Chilli Peppers were "giving away" and she compared Ricky Martin's dance style to Elvis's. ("Elvis got banned from TV for dancing like that! Now everyone dances like that!")
