Alex eventually got up to go meet this girl who he'd arranged to meet. She had told him that she had a plan; he was interested, but had hidden his interest well. He didn't care that he was late; but then, he didn't really care about anything.

Alex had a bad reputation at school. He was known as the meanest kid at school, and there were a lot of rumours about him; that he took dr'ugs; that he'd set the science lab on fire several times; that he'd burnt a book in front of a teacher and gotten away with it cuz the teacher had had a nervous breakdown; that he'd once stabbed a guy for telling on him. The last one was the reason why no-one ever dared to report Alex for things he did, which meant that he still hadn't been expelled.
