The Sound of Music is a musical version of a real story. In the musical, Maria is training to be a nun, but has a hard time not breaking the strict rules and requirements. She’s sent to be a nanny for a retired Captain who has seven children. The children have a few discipline problems of their own, so Maria gets along with them very well.
Eventually Maria and the Captain realize they are in love with each other. This makes it hard for Maria who had planned to become a nun and never marry, but she realizes that this must be her destiny. The couple marries and the children are thrilled. Unfortunately, they soon have to leave their home to flee the Nazis, but they are able to do it together.
