Hotaru was injured in a terrible lab accident when she was young, and now is not as strong as the rest of the Sailor Scouts. Her father is responsible for the accident, and he is well known as a mad scientist. Despite her weakness, Hotaru does have very special power, however. In Sailor Saturn, still waters run very deep.
Hotaru, who transforms into Sailor Saturn, has the power of silence. In fact, her power is so large and overwhelming she doesn’t get to use it very often. Instead she uses her other power – the power to heal. Weak, yet strong, Hotaru is a very quiet, yet powerful young lady.
