Girls who have guts and do brave things inspire us quite a bit. How can you not want to be the next teenage heroine and save the day Ė especially if some idiot boy is messing it up in the first place?

I have a few favorite girls I look up to, and they never cease to inspire me when Iím feeling tired or lazy. Itís amazing what some guts can do.

Juliet

We all struggle with parents who just donít get it from time to time, but Juliet had it especially bad. She fell in love with one of her familyís enemies, a hot guy named Romeo .Romeo just happened to be the son of Julietís worst enemies, even though the kids had no idea what all the fighting was about.

They met a party and after a rather romantic scene on a balcony, decided to get married. I know I freak out if Iím planning to put on more make-up than my parents allow, but to follow your heart the way they did impresses me. To make matters worse, right after Juliet and Romeo get secretly married, Romeo accidentally kills Julietís cousin and has to leave town, and Julietís parents arrange a marriage for her with another guy. Juliet manages to talk her way out of it Ė at least for a little while. Talk about guts!

Unfortunately it doesnít turn out all right in the end, but I like to think of Julietís struggles when Iím dealing with parents that just donít understand why nine oíclock is a ridiculous curfew or why I really need a new outfit. Juliet found a way around her parentsí silly feud and actually managed to end the big fight at the end. And to think she was only fourteen at the time.

Joan

Joan of Arc was only twelve when she began to have visions of saints. These saints began instructing her to lead an army to help put the rightful king on the throne of France. The only two problems Joan faced were her young age and the fact that in the early 1400s, women simply didnít DO military.

Finally, at the ripe old age of sixteen, Joan decided to follow her heart. She found a willing male relative who took her to visit the man she felt was the rightful king.

He had her tested to see if she was really talking to saints, and when she passed the tests, she became the head of part of his army.

Sometimes itís easier to just sit back and wait for someone else to do the fighting, but Joan reminds me that bravery is more than acting tough. She not only went into battle herself, she inspired thousands of grown men to keep up the fight. In fact, largely through her efforts, Joan actually made a man king. Not bad for a teenager. Itís just a shame her enemies were wimps and accused her of false crimes. Even as she was facing death, she loudly forgave her enemies and asked them to pray for her. Thatís one tough girl!

Sailor Moon

Life would be boring without a bit of fantasy to guide us. For this reason, I love Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshi. Where else can you find a group of teenage girls working together to battle the forces of evil?

Faced with the destruction of the earth, Usagi Tsukino, or Sailor Moon as she calls herself in battle, finds her powers and use them to battle evil creatures. The more she fights, the more she learns about herself and the powers she is fighting so hard to defeat. She also learns a bit about romance.

No matter how hard the fight, Sailor Moon keeps going. How can I justify wimping out on my math homework if she is able to keep fighting demons forever? Sailor Moon gives me the power to go on, and sitting back and taking a break to play with the Sailor Moon coloring pages here on the Doll Palace never hurt anyone either.

Hehe! Go Sailor Moon!

And, you go girl! You also forgot some of the other great ones, like Amelia Aerheart, Harriet Tubbman, Helen Keller. Although, I would imagine it'd go on and on though.

You go girls!

I think your trying to feed lies to the younger kids on this site who still believe in fairytales. Your telling them we can do what we want if we "believe in ourselves". Well I believe that this is a bunch of bull and nobody can change the world without cash and a bunch of lies that you tell the media. That along with connections with higher people, and some more cash.

There's really nothing anyone can do. I mean, there's a reason why people only get famous every few hundred years. Nothing is going to change now.

People protest and send letters to politicians but what the hell is that going to do? There's nothing we can do to change the world. We can't help it,stop it,do anything to change it. In the worlds of Marilyn Manson

"So don't expect the end of the world to come one day out of the blue -- it's been happening every day for a long time."
