The news seems to be full of bad girls these days. These girls always start off good and go wrong somewhere. Brittany was adorable and fun until she went nuts and shaved off her hair. We all related to Lindsay and wanted to hang out with her until she kept having trouble with drinking and driving. Hopefully my new favorite good girls like Miley Cyrus and Dakota Fanning
won’t turn bad, and hopefully you don’t either. Check below to see if you’ve still got your Good Girl status.
You Mind Your Manners
The simple things in life can tell others a lot about you. If you’re polite and remember your please and thank you, you can earn a lot of respect. Nobody is perfect, but a simple excuse me can help protect you from the glaring eyes of others. And being polite is really such a nice way to live. Nothing makes rude people madder than someone who refuses to be rude back.
Other manners you think are important include not interrupting your friends when they’re speaking, at least trying to listen to your teachers and parents, holding open the door for the person behind you and trying to find something nice to say or not saying anything at all.
You Think of Others
I know it’s hard to move away from ourselves sometimes, but when you still think of others first some of the time, you’re still a Good Girl. If you’re planning to go to a party, but your best friend needs you, you might pout for a minute, but if you still rush to your friend’s side, you’re okay.
You try to help people around you as often as you can. You watch your language when there are little kids or older adults around. Well, you probably watch it most of the time regardless of who’s around. You know the world doesn’t revolve around you, and you try to make it a nice place for those around you.
You Respect Your Elders
(most of the time)It can be a tough thing to obey your parents or teachers, especially when you know they’re wrong, but you do try. Respecting your parents is not the same thing as blindly following everything they say or do. If you try to behave yourself around their friends and argue with them respectfully rather than like a psycho drama queen, you’re still on the Good side. Can you really see Miley Cyrus
blowing up and screaming insults at her parents? I don’t think so.
You Think Before You Act
The hardest part of being your age is thinking before you do something.
Sometimes you say the wrong thing and know that if you’d thought for a minute you wouldn’t have hurt your friend’s feelings. If this sort of thing happens to you, you’re not a Bad Girl, but you do need to make sure you’re following through on your manners and apologizing.
If you’re constantly doing really wild things that put yourself or others around in you in danger, you’re playing with fire. Driving down the wrong side of the road drunk as one of the newsworthy Bad Girls demonstrated recently isn’t an accident – its plain stupid. You have a brain. So long as you’re still using it more often than not, you’re ranking up there with the other Good Girls of the Doll Palace Community. Good for you!
