The last Harry Potter
book is due out in just a few days, and like everyone else, I’m ready to see how the series ends. The dolls here at The Doll Palace may keep me busy, but I have read the entire series (so far) and have my own predictions of what might happen in the seventh and final book. *WARNING – SPOILERS!*
Sirius Will Come Back
I had a hard time believing that Sirius was really dead, so I’m pretty sure he’ll be back. There were voices behind the curtain in the Ministry of Magic, so it stands to reason there might be more to it than simply death. JK Rowling actually stated in an interview that the curtain was to “investigate” death and the afterlife rather than execute people.
Perhaps Sirius will be back – bolder and wiser than ever. Dumbledore will stay dead, though.
Petunia Makes a Difference
Aunt Petunia is going to step up in this book. She’s been playing things low-key for the most part throughout the books, but she seems to be more aware of how things are going as the books progress. Harry must return home one more time, and while he’s there I think Aunt Petunia is going to reveal something or help Harry in some significant way.
Ginny Will Save The Day
Ginny has been getting more and more powerful with each book. She’s played a major role in a few of the storylines to date (remember Tom Riddle’s diary?), so I think she’ll be even more important in this book. Not only is she a very skilled witch
, she also has Harry’s heart. Harry’s protection came from his mother’s love, so perhaps Ginny’s love will serve a greater good in the final book.
Harry Will Win
The most basic storyline of the book is Harry versus Voldemort. They have been slugging it out for six books now, and Harry has won a few victories, but lost others. When push comes to shove, however, I believe Harry is going to come out the overall winner. Of course the books have been anything but happy here lately, so it won’t be all grins and roses. A few more friends will probably die in the process – Neville is my first guess since he has become such a hero over the books, and the win will be ugly. Maybe Malfoy will die, too – he deserves it.
Harry Will Die
Harry is a hero
, and your English teacher may have told you that all “traditional” heroes have a fatal flaw. That means that they have something serious that they must figure out or it will kill them. It’s pretty obvious that Harry’s flaw is his disregard for logic or reason when it comes to his friends. He is alone in the world other than his friends, so he puts everything on the line to save them, usually without thinking first.
I’m guessing Harry is going to get put in a tight spot and have to choose who lives and who dies. In finally defeating Voldemort, Harry will make the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of the wizarding world and his friends– himself.
