The problem with Stereotypes (Doll Article)

Why calling people certain things can mess up the way they see themsleves positivley.
I've noticed that lately people have been saying things to eachother like "Ugh, I hate preps" or making fun of people who cut by saying things like "Oh, look at me, I'm emo! *pretends to cut*". Or just plain ripping on eachother by the music they like, what they wear, or what they are like. When you people say things like this, you do it on purpose. I mean, its obvious your trying to put somebody down or hurt them. But you don't realize one thing, you can hurt somebody with those words more than you think. Some people are sensitive and take things harder than others do. When you say things like that, you can make somebody want to change the way they are and start hating themselves. They get more emotional and they may start developing depression. So please, next time your about to say something hurtful, think about what those words will do. Thanks for reading!

I hate labels too! I don't think I really have a label. I guess if someone would just LOOK at me they would THINK I'm a prep. But I'm not preppy at all. I just like looking cute. =]

Being depressed CAN be bad if not treated. But other than that, no, I don't think being depressed is all that bad. But I know its not a good feeling.....(Has happened to me before)

Well, okay. I'm not saying you have to listen. I'm asking you to think before you say something. Your missing the point.
