  Why hate Sanjaya? (Doll Article)

(June 20, 2007 by Fusion_Angel Send DollMail Send Email )
Why does anybody else hate Sanjaya Malakar? The reasons some people doesn't like Sanjaya is because of his hair, his voice, and even his looks. I don't hate him, ever. I like him, because I sensed that Sanjaya is the nicest American Idol contestants I have ever seen.
Here's a little history about him;
Sanjaya is born in September 10, 1989, his birth name Sanjaya Shekar Malakar, in the Seattle metropolitan area. He spent the early years living in Snohomish County in Washington. His father Vasudeva Malakar has come to the U.S. Hare Krishna pujari, and his mother Jillian Recchi Blyth, who is the Italian American. Both of Sanjaya's parents are the followers of Vaishnava Hindu religion. When Sanjaya's 3 years old, his parents filed a divorce and has been separated for a year prior to filing for divorce. When the divorce was filed, the family had almost no money coming in. His mother and the children were living in a Seattle apartment, and her only income was from welfare. His mother remarried, but his stepfather died soon afterwards. In 1995, Malakar's middle name was changed to Joseph to honor his late grandfather Joseph Paul Recchi Sr., whom Malakar cites as his hero. Although Malakar spent the majority of his formative years in the Seattle area, he has also lived in California and Kauai, Hawaii where he performed with the Hawaii Children's Theater group. While in Seattle, he spent three years with the Total Experience Gospel Choir.

Malakar's father is a classical Indian musician. Other singers in his family include his older sister Shyamali, and his cousin Camila Recchi.

Malakar attended the Seattle Waldorf School and Northshore Junior High School for middle school in Bothell, Washington. He attended Shorecrest High School during freshman year, and Todd Beamer High School during sophomore year. After his sophomore year, Malakar passed the General Educational Development test, in order to leave high school early and focus on a music career and on his participation in American Idol.

Don't you see how he's been going through in his life? In either way he can be a good or a bad singer, all of us can sense that Sanjaya wants to have a glorious yet loving and fun life. Any questions, dollmail me. I'm Fusion_Angel20, author of the Fusion Angel series in the Dollz and Stories section.

I adored him. He might not be the best singer, and his appeal was more the hair, but I thought he was adorable. And if you read any interviews with him, he's a good sport about all the jokes. He seems rather mature and cool. It's strange for me since he is a year younger than I am, but I like the kid. Sanjaya's awesome.

The only reason I didn't like him was because he couldn't sing as well as the rest of the contestants. Plus, the only reason he was still on the show for so long was because he's a hottie.

I don't hate Sanjaya. I just think he was cut out for american Idol and it's a shame people had to go when Sanjaya was still on there. Fiestarose is right he is an entertainer not really a singer. He's charming..i guess thats the right word. And thats mostly how he got how far he did. All the little kids liked him because he was kinda cute he does need a hair cut though

Sanjaya is a nice person and I think its cool that he does his own thing and that he's unique...but he can't sing for his life. He should NOT be on american idol. he should have been voted off first.

I know what its like to be made fun of by stupid immature girls who file their nails and stuff and are STILL ugly. They make fun of me because I have SELF EXPRESSION. Obviously the people here who DONT like him dont SEE that he is HIS OWN PERSON and DOESNT CARE WTF YOU THINK!!

I think San Jaya is awesome he is the sweetest person ever and they shouldn't make fun of him, just because hes from a different culture. I mean, like this season when shakira or lakira or whatever her name was got kicked off, it was because they rigged the judging so the white guy was still in it, to get better ratings!

He could sing, not as well as the other contestants, but he could sing. I hated to see him made fun of all the time by Ryan Seacrest (ex. "Two legends meet eachother: Tony Benett and...Sanjaya") That sort of thing was really mean. You're right, as a person I am sure he is absoloutely lovely! He seemed like a nice boy and in all the interviews I read of him, he was really sweet. I also think that there was some racism thrown in. You know, the American idol producers trying to make him a 'funny Indian kid'. But you know, it's not funny! The Indian culture is a beautiful one, and people should not meake fun of others based on where they come from. He had talent both as an entertainer and a singer, and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

He's an entertainer, NOT a singer. But he was very kind and you can't blame him for being on American Idol so long. It was votefortheworst.com! Well that and crazed tween girls. Anyway, nice article.

I have to disagree with pretty much everything that all of the people who wrote comments ahve written. He did NOT get people to vote for him by doing stupid things. Making his hair look crazy isn't a stupid thing. It is SELF-EXPRESSION...maybe the person who wrote that has no self-expression...

anyways i think he was FABULOUS singer and wasnt ugly..sooo...buh buy
