What do you take granted of? (Doll Article)

Most of us have woderful stuff we treasure (mobiles, video games, ect) and never think about the people who don't have these things.
Most of us have wonder ful stuff we treasure (Mobiles, video games, ect) and never think about the people who don't have these things.

In geography we talked about what the world would be like without water. What we discovered was terrifying. Not life, no seas or oceans, just rock and desert, like Mars or Venus or another distant planet where there is nothing. We take water for granted and you probebly didn't even relize.

An average day: You get up and wash your fash and brush your teeth. You use WATER. You have breakfast, a glass of WATER and cerial. At school/work you drink coffee containing WATER. You come home and drink even more WATER. During this day you have to use the loo. WATER.

Think about how many times you use water in just 1 day. People in Africa have very little water, much, much less than we do. They walk 5 - 10 miles every morning just to get water for their family. You walk about 5 - 10 steps to get water. Just think how lucky you are to have water running from a tap, clean and safe.

Now think about money. Your parents/you get loads and loads and loads of money every week. People in Africa get about 50p a day just for picking tea leaves for 12 hours a day 7 days a week. In 1 year they make 182.50. 1 year. Also worldwide only 1 in 6 children have access to eduction. That is very low amount. Do you hate school? Some children want to go to school but can't.

To conclude me article, think about the things you have and many others don't.

Thanks for reading,
Rhiannon

About the water: I mean, I feel sorry for the other people in Africa and other poor countries but I'm not going to stop drinking water. Nor am I going to stop taking a bath or brushing my teeth, or doing anything else that I need that might include water. The only thing I can do is stop leaving the water running when I don't need it and donate to poor countries.
