Vampire Doll

Are you fascinated by the undead? Perhaps you enjoy the little tingles on the back of your neck or the goose bumps that show up telling you not all is as it appears. Are you on the lookout for something supernatural, and fascinated by creepy tales? If so, I’m sure you love the royal family of horror - vampires.

Vampires are truly evil. They feast on human blood and enjoy turning victims into new vampires. Some recent books and movies have taken a new twist on the old principle, but even those few “good” vampires are heavily outweighed by their bad kinsmen. If you want to be prepared, there are certain things you need to know. Here are the most common characteristics of vampires:

Perfectly normal

– While we all love to wear the pointy teeth at Halloween, original vampires were often the picture of health and normalcy. They look even healthier than you and me, but at night might come for your blood.

Elongated teeth

– While some myths make vampires healthy looking, others have them deathly pale with elongated canines. Check your boyfriend’s teeth carefully before any make out sessions – not that you should be doing any necking anyway!

Missing Shadow

– Many myths claim that vampires don’t cast a shadow. Some say this is because they have no soul, and others claim it is because they are dead already. Who cares? It’s just plain creepy!

No Reflection

– If you pass by a mirror with a friend and only you show up, you’re in trouble. Vampires don’t usually show up in mirrors, and again this is believed to be because vampires have no soul.

Shape Shifter

– Vampires can change shape, and not just into bats like in the movies. Folklore tells that vampires can become any number of creatures including spiders and wolves – maybe even your adorably little kitten.

If you are suddenly seeing vampires all around, have no fear. There are plenty of ways to protect yourself – and not all involve silver bullets!

Garlic

– Garlic is the equivalent of mosquito repellent, only it has nothing to do with mosquitoes. Put some in your pocket or make a necklace if you want to repel vampires, but beware! Your new perfume might repel your friends, too.

Wooden Stakes

- There are only a few ways to kill a vampire, and this is the messiest. Wooden stakes through the heart will take out anyone really, not just a vampire.

Sunlight

– The easiest way to hurt or kill a vampire is to hit it with sunlight. As vampires are night creatures, some folktales claim sunlight is their natural enemy and they will perish if caught in the rays.

Silver Bullets

– If you have any on hand, silver bullets will also do the trick. Of course, anyone shot with a bullet through the heart, silver or otherwise, is probably not going to live to tell the tale.

Naturally, all of this vampire talk is really just for fun. Real-life vampire tales pop up all over the globe from time to time, but they have all been proven false. So, until a real vampire is spotted, you can have fun creating them here at the Doll Palace. Try a pale face and red lips, or maybe some scary fangs. Make her creepy or friendly, but just remember…nobody is truly safe!

now that i think about i read this really good book that had vampires in it and none of the charms that folklaw say to use actuiallyhave any affect on vampires and they don`t always turn you into a vampire or only kill you when they bite youthey can do both and they normally only kill people as payment for a dela the person has been tricked into and if you get lost in a forest and a vampire finds you you normally are never seen again because they tkae you in as a slave and for some reason you can kind of get there powers ?wierd?

The info in this is not all correct. Just for the people that are intrested I will correct the info.

Vampired are like human, they do have a shadow and a mirror reflection. Garlic doesn't do anything to them. Also, the elongated teeth are not always showing. They some out when needed. They do, however shape shift. So that is correct, although I dont think they can become your kitten. Sunlight doesnt kill them, it just burns their skin, badly. They dont get dun burns like us from being outside hours. They get it worse and from being outside less time then we have to. Silver hurts them. It burns them worse then the sun. It doesnt have to be in the form of a bullet as long as its pure silver. Some things not metioned here are that their eyes change colour depending on their mood. And they dont all drink blood. Some vamps feed off of certain emotions or plants. If they are a blood feeder, they usually get tranfusions.

I hope you enjoy the info I posted.

Hey the guy who impailed people was Count Duracular of Vlad the impailer as he was sometimes called we had to study that duracular book last year in english and also i think things about vampires are cool exept for the whole blood thing oh and being bitten and i alwasy thought that silver bullets killed werewolves if you want to kill a vampire you will need to find a way to get ultra violet light into a bullet that should work as it is suposed to be the closest thing there is to sunlight apart for sunlight obvcourse

hmmm... I've never heard of silver bullets working on vamps, just werewolves. But then, my knowledge is based on traditional myths and folklore, with only some of the more modern versions incorporated. So maybe it's a newer invention to tale.

Other tidbits worth noting:

There was an original lord in Transylvania who is the basis for the vampire ledgends. He was a very evil guy who liked to impale people on posts. When an army crossed through his land, he choose six of their best men and cooked them in a stew and made the whole army eat a bite. He said they better fight fo him or he'd keep killing their men in the same way.

The other main inspiration for vamps and werewolves is a rare disease that can effect people. People with this disease are very sensitive to sunlight and tend to grow a lot more body hair than the average human, hence the part wolve imagery.

With those oh-so-pleasant thoughts, Happy Halloween!

I love that you decided to reaserch about vampires. My favorate horror topic is vampires, but just one thing if you shoot a vampire with a silver bullet nothing will happen, silver kills were wolves not vampires. However you could us any type of cross to kill a vampire.
