We're down to the final ten contestants, and as American Idol heats up, we take a look back at the best and worst of season 5.

With a criminal record and potty mouth, who can forget Rhonetta Johnson? Rhonetta may not have impressed the judges, and well, she didn't impress the viewers much either, but that distinctive blonde hair, silver boobtube and white miniskirt have spawened a slew of tribute websites, and guarenteed Rhonetta her own place in the American Idol hall of fame. Anyone want a Rhonetta doll? Maybe not…

Fellow bottle-blonde Kellie Pickler, meanwhile, models herself on past-winner Kelly Clarkston and looks a little bit like "American Idol Barbie" with her blonde hair and all-American looks. We loved Kellie's casual look on this week's show, but is she too similar to that other Kelly (Clarkston), and Carrie Underwood to really wow the judges? Time will tell.

From blonde to brunette, and from Kellie to Katherine… Katherine McPhee has a personality almost as sweet as her looks, and even seems to have won over the hard-to-please Simon Cowell – not an easy task! Will Katherine take the American Idol crown? Or will it be one of the guys…

With 16-year-old Kevin Hicks out of the running, there are five guys left against the five female finalists, making the next few shows a battle of the sexes as each struggles to get through to the final. If looks were the only criteria, our money would probably be on 25-year-old Ace Young, but at this stage it's probably anyone's game: season two, after all, ended in a showdown between winner Ruben Studdart and runner-up Clay Aitken, neither of whom were exactly oil paintings. The most important thing, after all, is talent, and that's something none of the finalists are short of.

Who'll win? Who knows. But it'll sure be fun finding out…
