I’ll admit I’m a fan of the boy band. Three, four or five cute boys dancing and singing up on a stage? Good stuff. I’m keeping a careful eye on the latest craze in boy bands to see just how big these three brothers get. The Jonas Brothers are another boy band – but they are an entirely new breed of boy.
To start, the Jonas Brothers are actually musicians. Most boy bands combine a few boys who can carry a beat and possibly a tune and train them up much like dancing monkeys – sometimes very hot dancing monkeys. The Jonas Brothers, however, can actually play instruments and sing and were working well together long before they were discovered. That is only natural actually as the three are really brothers. There is a fourth brother, by the way. Frankie is only seven and is referred to as the Bonus Jonas.
Mr. Jonas, Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas
The Jonas brothers consist of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas – all of whom are good looking with dark hair and brooding expressions – although they are cute when they smile, too. Kevin is the oldest at 19 followed by Joe at 17 and Nick at 14. The three brothers get along very well and apparently only bicker about who gets to play what character first on the communal video game consoles.
The might also have a rough spot or two when a particularly good looking fan prefers one brother over another at a concert, but since all three are single, there is no need for concern on that part. Judging by the sheer number of girls flocking to the Jonas Brothers concert, there are plenty of cute girls the brothers can make eyes at from the stage. Maybe even you!
The three brothers started as a singles act. Nicholas Jonas was on Broadway in a big way and released a single and then partially released a CD with INO Records and Columbia Records. The three brothers were signed together as a group to Columbia Records in 2005, and the magic began – but soon stopped. Columbia dropped the group in 2007. Fortunately, the group had already been making quite a name for itself and was snatched up again by Hollywood Records in 2007. They have been making beautiful music ever since.
TV, Movies, Music, Oh My!
As if some great songs weren’t enough, the Jonas Brothers are getting on the big time thanks to the Disney Channel. The brothers star in a movie, Camp Rock, that is scheduled to be released on June 20th. The last big movie the Disney Channel prepped so much was High School Musical – heard of it?
The brothers play the main characters including the love interest and they also are the band, Connect Three. If you can’t wait to see the three in the movies, you can always watch their reality show, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, which premiered in May on the Disney Channel. And you might just be lucky enough to land tickets to their concert tour kicking off on July 4th. If you can attend the event at Anaheim, California on July 13 and 14, you might just appear in the concert movie Disney will be making.
