Itching to have a party, but don’t know what to celebrate? If you’re not lucky enough to have a birthday around the corner, you might have to get creative when party planning. This is easy enough, however, when you think of what’s ahead. School is rapidly approaching, even though it seems summer just began, so the most logical party to have is the Summer’s End Party.

What’s a Summer’s End Party?

Because you’re inventing the Summer’s End Party, it can be whatever you want it to be. You’re celebrating the end of summer, so the most natural setting might be a pool party, but that is by no means required. The real purpose is to simply get your friends together one last time before school starts. So if you want to have a slumber party, a dance party, a cooking party, a shopping party, a movie marathon party, it doesn’t matter – just get everyone together to party!

Ideas for Your Party

You’re having your party at the end of the summer, or at the end of your summer vacation at least, so you can have a fun theme. One theme might be “Back to School” where you give friends a box of school supplies as favors after playing various summer games. Your summer activities, such as pool volleyball or basketball, would be followed by school reminders – very fitting for the situation.

The Olympics might also be a fun idea, too. Make your party a Summer Olympics and invite a large crowd of boys and girls. Then you can have contests and games like “Best Toilet Paper Outfit” where teams dress up a person in toilet paper or flirty favorites such as the orange chin races where you pass an orange from one person to another by holding it under your chin. The winners of each event would get medals, of course.

Another fun summer idea is to use your favorite horror movies to make a Slasher Slumber Party. Grab up classics such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, Friday the 13th and others and then huddle down together on the couch with popcorn to scream the night away. There won’t be much sleeping, but there will be plenty of fun!

Make it a Tradition

Like all good events, you should strongly consider making your Summer’s End Party a tradition. It will give you something fun to look forward to every summer right before school starts and also give your friends something to plan together. This is especially helpful if you haven’t seen much of each other over the summer or you’ve started to grow apart.

You don’t have to do the same things at the party every summer, but simply having the seasonal event can be a light at the end of a bright summer before the cooler, calmer days of school start up again.
