Fashion trends come and go, but you can be in the know if you follow along with certain blogs and such. Iíve been doing a bit of research as I get ready to buy some new things for spring, and thought you might like to know what Iíve found.
Leggings are still very much in, but patterned tights are making a huge splash. You wear your patterned tights under your cut-off shorts, skirts, dresses and tunics Ė just be sure your tunic is long enough. The tights can be heavy where you canít really see through them or thinner Ė almost like hose, and paired with ankle boots or lace up heels, they are something every girl should have.
Lace Up Heels
Fashion is a tricky thing, and shoes are certainly a part of that. To be most in style with your footwear, you should be wearing shoes that lace up and have heels. These can be paired with skinny jeans or worn over tights with shorts or a skirt. The heels should be high, preferably a wedge and the more intricate the lacing the better. If youíre not used to heels, however, take then on a test spin before you buy to be sure you can wear them and, more importantly, walk in the shoes correctly.
Hair or headbands have been popular for quite some time, but headbands are getting a bit more intricate with beaded patterns and leather ties. The headband should be worn past your bangs as a style item. The headband isnít intended to hold your bangs out of your eyes or anything the way they were when your mom was growing up.
Classic hats such as the fedora are increasing popular for spring and summer. When you buy a fedora, look for one that has certain style elements to it. A heavy hat will look like youíve borrowed your grandfatherís headwear, so look for one in a fun color or made from an unusual material like straw. Then pair the hat with a casual look to have a bit of fun in the sun.
With warm breezes in the air (or coming soon to your air) short, breezy dresses are becoming popular. The dresses should be loose and comfortable coming well above the knee, but not so super short you risk indecent exposure. Think saucy farm girl on the way to the town dance Ė and use that same inspiration for accessories as well. Tights, lace up boots and even a leather jacket will make this carefree dress a bit more down-to-earth for you rugged types.
Itís not your grandmotherís sweater! Grab a button up sweater in any color to pair up with all of your favorite outfits. The sweater will keep you warm when the mornings are cool and help dress up an outfit in different ways. Having multiple cardigans means you have multiple choices on how you want to play up your outfit that day.
