I canít help it Ė Iím attracted to the bad guys. Now, Iím not into horror really, so guys in masks wielding chainsaws, donít do much for me, but I do have a few favorite villains. They are all very different, but I love them all dearly Ė perhaps even more so than the whimpering little ďgood guysĒ they are out there to get.

Dr. Evil

Okay. Iíve got to be clichť for the first on the list. Dr. Evil is just too funny to pass up on a favorite villains list. The guy is a terrible villain but has some terrific moments on film. After all, the Austin Powers gave an entire generation of kids some horribly cheesy yet hilarious lines to over use. Mini Me is pretty funny, too but I like the original.

Prince Humperdinck

For some reason, Iíve always liked Prince Humperdinck. The guy is weak, ineffective and trying to kill off Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride, but still there is something about him that amuses me. Maybe itís his haircut (or lack there of.) You may be wondering why I left out my favorite band of princess kidnappers. The truth is, I simply donít consider them villains. Sure they all tried to kill poor Westely, but they were simply doing their job! In fact, Inigo, Fezzik and yes, even Vizzini are some of my heroes.

Darth Vador

I donít care for the prequels as much as the original Star Wars movies, but I like Darth Vador most in the final installment of the Star Wars movies. The Return of the Jedi gives Vador some depth that he doesnít have in earlier segments. Plus itís cool when he takes off the helmet as he lay dying. Of course we know his whole background now thanks to Anikinís story in Episodes I, II and III, but sometimes you just canít match the originals for plot and depth Ė not to mention originality.

Scarlet OíHara

If you havenít seen it, check out Gone with the Wind. Iíd recommend you read the book, but at over 800 pages, it might be more practical to start with the movie. Scarlet OíHara isnít really a villain so much as she is an anti-hero. Sheís hard to love with her obnoxious ways, but then you canít help but admire her courage and drive. Anyone who can deliver a baby, escape the Yankees, rescue a dying plantation and strike it filthy rich while wearing fabulous costumes is alright in my book.

Mystique

Finally, we have to include Mystique. The shape shifting mutant from the X-men series may be on the wrong side of the fight against humans, but she sure can throw a mean punch and look cool in the process. Besides, Mystique seems to shift sides as often as she shifts shapes. Maybe sheíll team up with the good guys if they ever get around to releasing the next film!

u spellt Vader wrong, and u forgot voldemort and snape.

i think personally, snape is more of a threat even if *BOOK 7 SPOILERS* he turned out evil.

voldemort can be just plain pathetic.

Other villians? in Dr Who, theres always the Master....
