Poor men. When it comes to fashion, they tend to be forgotten. Just look at the recent Oscars: remember all the fuss about the women's gowns, their shoes, their hair? All of the debates about who was the best dressed and who was the worst? Now think about the male actors. Can you even remember what any of them were wearing? Thought not.

For swanky events like the Oscars, men tend to stick to the traditional black tux and bow tie, with very little variation. While some might say that they get it easy – well, at least they don't have to worry about someone else turning up in the same outfit! – it can also be a little boring.

Luckily, there are some male actors who still know how to turn on the style. Take Brad Pitt for example. While we're willing to bet that Brad would look good in pretty much anything, he knows what suits him. He'll stick to the standard black tux for formal wear, but left to his own devices, Brad's style is much more casual, with sand coloured, slouchy suits and open-necked shirts. Remember Brad's sharp-suited but casual look in Oceans 11? That's his style down to a T, and he wears it well…

Then there's Johnny Depp. While the Willie Wonka star's quirky look may not be to everyone's taste, no one could accuse Johnny of being boring. Funky hats and coloured glasses are key elements of Johnny's offbeat style, although when he has to get dressed up, he'll favour 20s style suits and spats.

So, who's your male fashion icon? Do you go for the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal with his laid back hoodies and loose fitted jeans, or do you prefer Orlando Bloom's slightly more eccentric style, with his patterned shirts and short ties? Or maybe your preference is for British style icon David Beckham who's been known to wear sarongs? Your Doll Palace male character is yours to do with what you will!
