Love it or hate it, Myspace gets almost as many hits as Yahoo and MSN combined, and is firmly established as the online venue for teens to hang out and keep in touch. Here's how to make the most of the Myspace experience.
Finding friends on Myspace
One of MySpace's great attractions is the fact that you can use it anyway you like: either to keep in touch with your existing friends or to make new ones from the people you'll find online.
If you're using Myspace to meet new friends, then your profile is all-important. You'll use it to tell people a bit about yourself, and hopefully wind up with some new friends requests as a result.
The problem with Myspace, however, is that no matter how interesting your profile, there are some people who will judge purely on appearances: by browsing the photos of yourself you've uploaded to the site, and using them to decide whether or not they'd like to friend you.
If you'd rather be judged on who you are than what you look like, then, an avatar could be the answer.
Your Myspace avatar is the image you choose to represent yourself on the site. By using an avatar rather than an actual picture of yourself, you get to choose how you're represented on MySpace. Choose a doll that looks like you or one that looks completely different: it's up to you. Your avatar is an expression of who you are, so be as creative as you like with it.
Male character avatars
Avatars are particularly useful for guys who want to make the most of Myspace without having to plaster pictures of themselves all over the internet. The Doll Palace's male doll avatars, for example, make an interesting alternative to a standard photo, and with the ability to change your avatar as often as you like, you can easily add interest to your profile and give visitors something a little bit different to look at.
