If you’ve never heard the term, “Glowing with good health,” you obviously need to read more- just kidding. While it might seem as though we’re describing a rather illuminated young lady with that particular phrase, what the phrase is really describing is the skin’s healthy sheen of good health when you take care of yourself. If you’d like to “glow with good health,” you’ll need to work on caring for yourself in a number of ways.
Make Healthy Food Choices
Your first order of business is to get rid of all the foods that are harmful to your body. This includes many products made of sugar and highly processed white flour. Most chips, candy, cookies, soda, and other snack style foods definitely make this list. Ditch the junk and then focus on replacing those foods with healthy, natural alternatives. Handfuls of nuts are great for protein and energy. Fruits and vegetables will provide you with many of the essential vitamins and minerals you need. Meals and snacks should be serving a healthy purpose – not just filling you up or tickling your taste buds.
Once you’ve done some work to clean out the inside of your body with a healthy diet, it’s time to work on the outside. Doing this is as simple as taking a bath. Bathe regularly, preferably every day. Wash your hair and use special face cleaner to wash your face. If you got sweaty after your original shower, feel free to shower again. Leaving sweat and other dirt on your body is an open invitation for zits and pimples to form, and it’s hard to shine with good health if your hair is matted down with dried sweat and you smell a bit less than fresh.
Use Proper Hygiene
In addition to bathing daily, you must also follow the rules of conventional hygiene. These do vary by culture and climate, but a regular ritual of hygiene might include shaving your legs and armpits, using deodorant and cutting finger and toe nails regularly. If you have long fingernails, they are fine as well, but they should be cared for – file them to the same length, for example, and make sure they don’t have dirt underneath.
Take Care of Your Skin
Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and it is the one people can see. You need to take excellent care of it so that your good health can shine through. Wash your face daily and avoid using heavy make-up. Never sleep in makeup as this might invite breakouts to form. After washing your face, apply lotions and creams to help keep your face moisturized. It is soft, supple skin that does the most shining, after all. You’ll also want to put lotion on the rest of your body as all of your skin deserves a little tender loving care.
Taking care of yourself will help you shine with good health, but it will also give you a boost in confidence. When you know you’re healthy and can show it to others, your self esteem can certainly make a difference in your life every day.
