I知 certainly no expert, but I致e read quite a bit online and in other newspapers, magazines and the like and I知 fascinated by what I知 hearing about girls today. And if I知 fascinated, I知 willing to bet that you are at least mildly interested.

Girls Today Are Sharper than Ever

Girls today are much more tech-savvy than any generation previously. The only group of girls I think we even remotely compare to are the women who ran into factories and learned to assemble machine guns and airplanes for the men fighting World War II. They learned in a matter of days what were then, highly technical skills. Today people in our parents generation are taking classes to learn the things we seem to be born knowing. It痴 amazing to watch technology accelerate and to wonder what will be coming in five or ten more years.

Girls Today Are More Independent than Ever

I read a rather interesting article today about boys and girls living with their parents after the graduate. It seems almost a third of boys are living with their parents between then ages of 18-34, but only 17% of girls have the same set-up. I知 amazed that the 努eaker sex is living out there on her own, but the 鍍ough boys are heading home. Go Girls!

Girls Today Are More Likely to Stay Single

In the same article, it mentioned that boys and girls over the age of eighteen are less likely to get married. The number of marriages is falling overall, although the number of couples living together is rising slightly. I知 a big fan of independence, but I知 not going to write off finding my soul mate and taking a walk down the aisle someday.

Girls Today Are Less Likely to Be Mothers

The age of women having their first child is rising and the number of couples remaining childless is rising, too. Those two things combine to say that it痴 more likely you値l decide not to have children, but if you do, you値l start later increasing the odds of fertility issues. For those who do have children, you池e also far more likely to have only one or two babies.

Girls Today Are Smarter Than Boys

Okay, I知 taking a few liberties here, but for the first time ever, college and universities have more female students than male. Simply, there are more girls in college than boys and the trend continues up through graduation. If more girls are pursuing higher education, I can safely say that girls are smarter than boys at least in present company.

Girls Today Have Choices

Girls today have more choices than ever. It used to be you were discouraged from trying to break free and do your own thing. Then it was heavily encouraged and those who chose to stay home with children were looked down upon. Today, there doesn稚 seem to be one universal opinion about anything. You will grow up with the choice about what career to pursue, how much you want to work at it, how many children you want to have, whether or not you want to get married and nobody will blink an eye. Your grandmother likely is green with envy over your freedom of choice. Enjoy it.

If the link doesn't work then check to make sure there were no spaces added when it was copy and pasted. I don't know why it adds spaces, but it does. The link should have NO spaces. The most common place to delete a space is in the word 'index' between the D and the E.

xD What's weird, is that just when I'm reading this, SuperChic[k]'s 'So Beautiful' came on. Some of the lyrics are:

I'm going to stay at home for a little while after I graduate this school year, but I'm getting a job so I'm not a total moocher. I love my parents and want to help them out; my mom's got a bad back, and my dad's back is finally starting to fall to the pressure of his job, and I don't know how much longer either of them are going to be working. I really want to go into cakes, but the nearest college for it is down in Wheeling... -_-;

Before I moved out of my 'prison' which is my mum and dads home I used to work as a graphic designer and many girls teased me about my career field (I was a complete book worm and science freak back then) and I really don't want to get married because me and my boyfriend feel that having a kid will keep us bonded (We lived together for 7 years)

I'm glad that women have more rights and that we are now called the Stronger Gender (who wouldn't agree?)

I can definately vouch that boys stay at home while girls move out. I moved out of my home forever when I was 17 (Mother consented of course, I'm no run-away hooligan.) My husband on the other hand didn't move out of his mothers house until he was almost 20.

On a different subject. I'm a stay at home wife. And that does seem to be frowned upon. I want to be a stay at home mom when the time comes but that may not be for a few more years. My husband wants to be the traditional bread winner and I want to be the homemaker. That should be good enough for anyone else, but it's not.

I think girls always had the potential to be this strong, but we never took it because we are smarter than to go out there and start a war for land point blank, like the kings of old. We were more likely to stay in the shadows, doing things that made the men think it was their ideas all along.
