They may all be pushing forty (and, in some cases, exceeding it), but the cast of Desperate Housewives could still teach the rest of us a thing or two about style. Here we take a quick look at the fashion on display at Wisteria Lane…
Eva Longoria/Gabrielle Solis
As the youngest of the housewives, you'd expect Gabby Solis to have the most up-to-date approach to fashion. While her Juicy Couture sweats and the low-rise jeans she very occasionally wears are spot on, however, Gabby is a glam girl through and through, with a sometimes worrying penchant for 80s style power-suits, with nipped-in jackets and the shortest of skirts. When she gets it right, though, Gabby dresses like a superstar – and we love the sixties-inspired backcombed hair she's been sporting this season too!
Terri Hatcher / Susan Meyer
Susan's a casual dresser, rarely seen out of her bootcut jeans and causal Ts – outfits which showcase Terri Hatcher's rapidly shrinking figure. This season she's been covering up a little in big cardis and long skirts, but for the most part, Susan's style is the type you'd see on the average housewife in your neighbourhood. (Oh, designer handbags and shoes aside…)
Marcia Cross / Bree Van De Camp
As uptight Bree, redhead Marci Cross is all twinsets and pearls, worn with perfectly-coiffed hair and perfect makeup. Off-screen, Marcia is a little more relaxed, although her style remains classic and polished at all times.
Felicity Huffman / Lynette Scavo
Felicity's style is split in two, with her character Lynette veering between the baggy jeans and work shirts of her home life and the killer suits of the office. While Lynette's sloppy "at home" look leaves much to be desired, she cleans up good, and we love the power-dressing style of Lynette-the-boss…
Nicolette Sheridan / Edie Brit
What can we say about Edie? She has only one fashion rule which she obeys at all time – the more flesh you can flash, the better. Mind you, with a figure like hers, who can blame her?
