Kissable lips might not be the most important thing in the world, but when youíre looking at a date with that special someone youíll want to be sure your lips are as kissable as possible. This may become an even bigger problem in the summer as your lips get damaged by the sun. Preparing for the ultimate in kissing lips actually starts a bit in advance.
Exfoliate Your Lips
If your lips are dry, cracked, chapped or flaky, you need to exfoliate them gently using sugar, a washcloth or even a towel as you dry off. The goal of exfoliation is to remove the dead skin so that the fresh, smooth skin shows. Donít exfoliate too often as it can damage the sensitive skin of your lips, but a couple of times per week wouldnít hurt.
Every night before bed, use a form of moisture on your lips. I sleep in Chapstick, but you can also use special lip balms or even lotion if youíre sure itís okay to be swallowed. Moisturizing your lips right before bedtime allows your lips hours upon hours to soak in the moisture. You wake up with beautiful, moist lips that are ready for a close-up. Also use lip balm with SPF if your lips will be exposed to the sun, to prevent them from becoming chapped.
Scratch the Lip Pencil
Unless you have wrinkles around your mouth, you donít really need a lip pencil. Itís a bit harsh for most young girls anyhow, so skip it all together. If you feel that you really need a lip pencil, use a thick pencil for an effect closer to lipstick than a thin, harsh line. Your lip pencil should be almost or completely identical to the lip gloss or lipstick youíre planning to wear.
Apply Lip Gloss
Kissable lips have two areas of concern. The first is that they are inviting him in for a kiss the first time. Then, you want him to come in and kiss you again. If your lips are greasy, goopy, or slimy with lip gloss or lipstick, the boy will be rather unsettled to pull back from a romantic kiss and find that his lips now look and feel exactly the same way.
So when you go to apply lip gloss or lipstick. Opt for a pretty color that is light and natural. The gloss should be light weight as well Ė not thick or sticky. When you go to apply the lip gloss, put it on with enough time for it to settle a bit as it will be less likely to kiss off your lips on to his. Another option is the kind of lipstick that stay put for an entire day without kissing off on anything. If you opt for the stay-on kind, be sure to moisturize your lips every night as those forms of lipstick can remove moisture from your lips during the day.
To make you lips as kissable as possible, you need your guy to focus on them. So simply smile often and make it a habit to touch your mouth or your face near your mouth in some way. This might be reaching up for a yawn, a small bite of food or resting your head in your palm with your fingers near your mouth. Calling his attention to that kissable mouth might be exactly what you need for that first kiss.
