Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Itís that part of the year when you still have time on the weekends since the major school assignments havenít started yet. And the weather is still nice enough to spend time outdoors. Youíre desperate to find something new and exciting to do to get your mind off the boring routine of classes. But school or not, finding something enjoyable to do this weekend can be simple enough.
Go to the Movies
If youíve been waiting to go to the movies until something good was there, you donít need to wait anymore. Some great new films have come out in recent months as summer ended and the big serious moviemakers are getting ready for Oscar season. So grab a friend or maybe even a date and settle down to watch great action or maybe a bit of romance up on the big screen. There are some shows that promise to really deliver.
Stay Home with Movies
I personally love a movie
marathon. Grab a handful of movies youíve been meaning to see and pull on your pajamas. Snuggle into a big blanket with lots of pillows and enjoy. Take a break from the madness of school and work and simply relax to a good story. There is a lot of value in taking a break, actually. If youíve been pushing too hard lately, your body and mind will certainly appreciate you taking some time off.
Get Your Nails Done
While itís still warm outside, and you can still get away with wearing flip-flops and sandals. Go and have your nails done Ė both fingers and toes while you still can. I love to relax and enjoy the soaking and massaging while someone works wonders on my tired fingers and feet. It can be pricey if you go to a regular salon, so skip the salon and try a local cosmetology school instead or even set up a manicure and pedicure station of your own for you and a few friends to rotate through.
Spend the Day Away
Pack up a backpack and spend the day away from home in some sort of natural surroundings. You might head to the beach, a large park, a national forest, a nearby lake, but go somewhere outside of your regular locations to soak up some sun and fresh air and say goodbye to summer. Being outside is nicely soothing as well and you can get a lot of reading or writing done lying on a blanket in the park all afternoon instead of bumming around your house wasting time.
Make a Collage
On a large piece of paper or cardboard, start cutting out and gluing on pictures and phrases youíve found online and in magazines that describe you or that have meaning to you. Arrange them to be overlapping and when youíre finished see about laminating it or using contact paper to protect the big collage. Hang your collage on your wall like you would a poster or make several smaller collages and frame them as part of your roomís decorations.
